Working with GIS layers

1. Connecting to WFS

OcuMap supports Web Feature Service (WFS) interface which is specified by the Open GIS Consortium (OGC). WFS allows for the exchange of geographic data across the Web. You can connect a WFS interface by following these Steps:

NOTE: You must select OpenStreetMap as your basemap before connecting WFS.

  • Select the project folder where you want to connect WFS to OcuMap.
  • Click on the upload icon.
  • Select the Maps tab on the top right corner.
  • Select “Connect external server”
  • Name your server connection. This is only for your reference inside OcuMap and will not effect the connection to your WFS.
  • Select WFS from the drop down menu
  • Insert the WFS URL. If you published your WFS with username and password restrictions, you will need to enter this information here, otherwise, you can leave it blank.
  • Test connection
  • If the connection is successful, click on the next arrow to select the features and styles you would like to display. If the connection is unsuccessful, double check your URL
  • Load
